I love the IDEA of the BYU marching band, but I don't particularly love the
current execution of it.

I was in the marching band 15ish years ago, and they are still playing the same tunes that were being played back when I was in it. My main issue with the band is as follows:

1. The music is generally dated. There are a few exceptions, but PLEASE try to get some more refreshing and updating of the charts that are played here

2. The execution and overall musicality of the band seems to have gone downhill in recent years. From my general observations, I notice a lot more pitchiness and not clean music being played when I listen to them. This is for both Marching band and Pep band.

3. Generally their halftime shows are simply boring. I understand they prepare multiple shows for the year which limits what they can do. And I don't expect them to be like Southern or Jackson St. in their style. But I'd much prefer them to make sure that whatever they out out they do it at the highest level of excellence and not have a kind of sloppy, not well executed performance week in and week out.

That's about it. I'm general, the band feels like it has been coasting in mediocrity for a number of years now. The current director is a very nice guy and I respect him greatly on a personal level, bit I feel like something has to change if they want to take things to the next level
