His statement was made within the context of sports, about fans of a rival team. Ask your average BYU fan what they think of San Diego st fans, or coastal Carolina fans. It won’t be positive, but it’s within the context of a game. It’s nothing personal.

What Max said was right after an intense game and his adrenaline was flowing, emotions high from his last game etc. It doesn’t make it relief society material, but it’s understandable. What excuses do all these fools have who are making T shirts with his mug shot on it?


One is about general fans of a sports team and a game being played. The other is a personal attack on one individual. I hope you can recognize the difference there.
