…others said it above, that’s the recipe and exists in many locations and found on Airbnb, etc. A kid-friendly beach house, lake house, or mountain house always worked for us that has plenty for the older kids to do in and around the house itself, but where they are in eyesight of adults (beach, lake, river, forests, playground, etc, or house with pool, games, etc) And then where there are activities you can drive to to break it up - amusement park, museum, cool hike or lighthouse, etc.
Nice thing about it is that you can accommodate naps and different sleeping schedules, keeping everyone well rested, yet active. But easy for you and spouse to trade off duties too.
And can keep it a true vacation, that allows for rest and being low key, but with fun activities as desired.
