Foreign stars seem to be non-glamour markets best hope. There haven’t been that
many, but They are much more likely to embrace where they are drafted and stick around long term (ala dirk, Gianni’s, jokic, Gobert) than their American counterparts. Not sure if it’s because they don’t have built in perceptions of small markets, and/or just don’t care about big market lifestyle as much, but you rarely here about them agitating to leave. Maybe it’s because most of them were unheralded draft picks and feel responsibility to the organizations that had faith in them. Luka is the only one that came in with bonafide star expectations and I could see him forcing his way out at some point.
