The good, the ugly & the can’t do much about that right now
The good:
-Lohner’s aggressiveness offensively. He is one of the few untapped potential weapons that this team has left if it’s going to improve.
-George’s jump shot. Gideon’s ability to simply knock down open 3s at a solid clip could be the difference in a few games down the stretch.
-Fouss’ fight on the glass. While the scoreboard last night will make fans forget, Fouss got BYU several extra offensive possessions and for an inconsistent shooting team those extra opportunities will be huge going forward.

Can’t do much about that
-Gonzaga’s front court was just too skilled for BYU’s young bigs. It was a flat out mismatch.
-Gonzaga was shooting out of their minds from outside. Sometimes you just run into a buzz saw.

The Ugly
-This can all be summed up in two words: Defensive Awareness:
1-Cutters getting right to the rim without BYU defenders seeing them. Seeing man & ball is the most basic defensive principle and BYU did it horribly last night.
2-Bigs getting runouts off made BYU baskets is just laziness. Nobody should beat your defense to the front of the rim after having to take the ball out of their own net.
3-Really slow getting to shooters. It’s one thing for the Zags to hit that many shots, but there were a ton a wide open looks and it’s because BYU was really slow identifying, rotating & closing out on shooters.
