BYU hasn't been running much weave this year
You may find some individual plays here and there that look like a weave...but that's not what BYU runs.

What you seem to be referring to is DHOs - which is not the same thing as a weave. The entire offense has always been predicated on ball screens. It is a continuis ball screen O using DHOs. That isn't really a weave.

Now - you could argue that BYU is better off not doing DHOs that require the big to make the pass...sometimes I think you are right and they probably should just go with a basic PNR with no hand-off on certain situations.

Having said that I actually think the coaching staff is doing a very good job this year on offense given the limitations of personnel. The offense that BYU runs is very similar to what Steve Kerr runs at GSW.

I'm probably just arguing semantics here of difference between weave and the continuity offense BYU runs but there are some key differences. BYU ranked in the 40s offensively is pretty good considering the roster makeup.
