The only thing that saved him from hitting a bunch of jagged rocks was that he landed in a tree, which cushioned his fall. We saw him go over the edge, and were extremely worried until we looked over the edge of the trail and saw him hanging upside down in a tree. Other than being a bit shaken, he was able to quickly recover and resume riding.
