So, my son is awaiting his mission call, but we wanted him to do SOMETHING after his first semester at college while waiting to leave.
He got a job at a local hardware store. He told them, he is probably only here for a month or two, and they said fine.
He's been there about two weeks. The Store owner emailed him this morning to say he wanted to talk to my son this morning.
It was for a Raise. He had good ratings for his first two weeks, and they wanted to make sure to keep him, so they gave him a raise.
I see "help wanted" signs absolutely everywhere. It must be so hard to get responsible workers right now.
My son is a good kid ... hard worker, sociable, polite ... so YEAH, I agree they should want him. BUT they know he is leaving ... I'm thrilled they gave him a raise. BUT wow, if that is the standard process now for starting employees ... can you show up 10 days in a row and be responsible!?!? Great, here's a raise!
You guys that run business are amazing.
