had no idea she had climbed up out of the crib and was standing behind the door.

This is the second time she’s climbed out of her crib. The first time she made it as far as dangling off the outside and screaming for help before my wife grabbed her. This time she made it all the way out and yelled the whole way until I unknowingly blasted her with the door when I opened it.

After a restful night of sleep, I guess it’s time for the big bed. My other two kids mercifully made it much longer in the crib. I have a feeling this will not be a super smooth transition.
