Imagine if Stockton had QS as his HC
and Donovan had Jerry Sloan?

I get that the era doesn't define a player's skills, but it matters.

Donovan would not be scoring in the 20s, I'll tell you that. He wouldn't have even half the 3pt attempts cuz Sloan wouldn't have allowed it.

The Jazz under Sloan averaged what--maybe 100 points a game? Under QS, it's like 113. That comes from the team taking 15ish more shots a game. Stockton would get 4-5 of those and score at least 4-5 more points.

The Jazz spread the court a tiny bit in the Sloan era with Hornacek and Russell. And sometimes the Jazz's 2nd big (especially Antoine Carr) played away from the cup. But for most of Stockton's career, if he kept the ball on a PnR with Malone, he'd have Eaton's (or Ostertag's) defender waiting for him at the rim. The lane was rarely open for PGs like it is now. Stockton was unbelievable at finishing over the trees in the lane. If he played in today's game, he'd have a higher percentage in the lane to go with more attempts because it wiuld actually be accessible.
