In Maryland, companion from Germany hated these members who let dogs jump on us
They were into this medieval thing and the member husband was the ward mission leader so we were there pretty regular. My companion had a short fuse. Anyway one day this dog was shedding hair and slobbering all over him and the member went outside.
Elder L grabbed the dog around the throat and started throttling the poor thing. The dog started to scramble and panicking and then it went limp just as the member came back in. Elder L then tossed the dog toward the corner and it revived and started staggering around and whimpering.

The member was like “what’s wrong with my dog?” Elder L was like “maybe he’s sick or something.” Ever after that the dog wanted nothing to do with us.
Elder L later served as a MP and area authority, I’m sure his way of grabbing a problem by the throat served him well there.
