receiving core in school history should be able to increase the lead on a very pedestrian Utah St. defense.
Take this all with a grain of salt because I am not a QB or football expert, just a fan. It may be that Conover is a superstar in the making but as fans we usually react with our hearts and first impressions are hard to shake. We watched Jacob Conover struggle in his first game as a "freshman" (13 months home from a mission) against a poor defense. We also watched Fennegan come in against a top 10 BYU team in his first game as a freshman (6 months home from a mission) and throw for 182 yards and two touchdowns. Fennegan was much more impressive in his first start (and probably his only start BYU fans have watched) than Conover was so naturally there are some who believe he is better. The circumstances were also very similar. A third string freshman returned missionary comes into a rivalry game for an injured backup who had been playing well up to that point.
I don't mean to attack Conover, just give reason why some could be higher on Fennegan.
