The problem isn’t getting a quality nonconference opponent. It’s getting 2.
BYU-Utah, Pitt-WVA, UCF-Miami can all easily exist in a 9 game conference format. The question is will Big 12 teams schedule 2 Big 12 worthy opponents in the nonconference schedule.
I’m not so sure they are inclined to do that.
