But my wallet tells me to stay. And my wife. If I didn't have any kids, I'd be totally fine living in a 2 bd/2ba apartment in Berkeley or something. Probably could double my salary, too. I work in machine learning, and my current place (Idaho) is essentially flatline in that field.
But if I can hang on for 30 years in my current job and get adequate 401k returns, I can retire in modestly well-to-do style. Probably could even buy a decent 4 seat airplane.
And I only have 16 years until I get 4.54 hours of paid leave accrual per week. That's why I stay. I can spend the last half of my career essentially working 4 days a week on average.
