pension. At least in Utah, in my age cohort, we earn 2% per year. So, 30 years of service=60% of our salary for the rest of our life and then our spouse's life. Newer teacher's get 1.5% per year now. 401k sucks. Really no matching at all. I have friends who are getting some killer matching from their work. Insurance does go away. So, a decently smart human being can have a nice nest egg if they play the game right and pray that Obamacare gets better. Or, we teach until we are in our 60s.
