When we first got married it took my FIL a long time before he could understand that I just couldn't take 2 weeks off every summer to do some family trip or something. It was so weird to them that everyone didn't have the whole summer off.

Now I work for the school district but I work year-round and it's funny every year when the teachers come back and they all ask me if I had a good summer break. I just say yes now mostly because they weren't around to bother me while I worked.
