That doesn't sound like praise to me
of course I didn't listen to the program, but from what you are saying it sounds like they were still pretty stupid in their comments. There wasn't anybody ridiculing BYU's schedule, except for the Yewt butt kissing Salt Lake media. BYU was basically the story of college football most of 2020 because what TH had to do for BYU to play any kind of games. The national media was talking about how BYU was basically the only brand name team playing football in the west. They were in the discussion for NY 6 bowl game, and Zach Wilson became a name everybody knew.

Saying BYU was on the verge of being sucked into a black hole never to exist again, was never true. It was only the local media who was criticizing BYU for putting the schedule together in a matter of weeks instead of years. The exposure, the good vibes, the national media talking about BYU drove the local media crazy, and the only thing they could comment about was the "weak" schedule. They also said if BYU had played their original schedule than BYU would have been exposed, and would have won at the most 3-4 games.

Like I said I didn't hear the program, but just going off your comments, it sounds like they still needed to tell everyone how they thought BYU was so irrelevant in the big picture. This just sounds like the talking points of Scott Mitchell when he said Hill and Utah wanted to destroy everything BYU so they were nothing more than poo poo on the sole of their shoes.

Or maybe they really were giving BYU praise, and this just struck a nerve!
