Bobsled, luge, and most skiing events are never comparable. Every venue necessarily has different lengths and elevation changes because they are constrained by the terrain.

The only events I can see this mattering for are maybe the snowboard half-pipe and the ski jump. I bet those often have artificial snow at a lot of venues worldwide because everyone has to heavily use a relatively small surface area. Do they measure speed or distance in those events?
