Lohner works his butt off, both in practice and games. He plays full speed all…
the time. Pope is always preaching to play fast, to play downhill and Lohner exudes that with every fiber of his being. And I actually think that hurts him, possibly in a couple of ways offensively. Almost everything he does offensively is full speed. Very little change of pace. No pump fakes. Very rarely uses a drop step. He’s athletic, fast and jumps well but he gets his shot blocked a lot because he only plays at one speed and it’s easy to predict where the ball is gonna go up. He needs to read the defense and juke and pump fake, bump players off balance and then go up instead of just being a bull in a china shop on offense.

The other way it may hurt him is he may be practicing his threes at a lesser pace than he plays with. If he doesn’t shoot practice threes at the same pace he shoots threes during a game that could make a difference.
