My child showed any athletic promise (around 12 years of age), until they stopped playing college ball. I have been here for more than 20 years and have had two kids play ball at BYU. I have mostly enjoyed being here and reading people's takes and opinions. I have had friend's dads and uncles coach here on both the football and basketball teams. I love Cougar sports and joined the Cougar Club back in the '80's.
I was also reminded last weekend as I attended both basketball games at the Marriott Center of a truism: most stuff spouted here as fact are definitely just opinions. I sat on the third row and eavesdropped an an "expert" (called that by his four friends he was with) spoke out on the football and basketball teams' issues and challenges.
I'd say he was 75% wrong on many things he spoke about "factually." None of it matters in the grand scheme of things in life, but I would caution all of you to label opinions as opinions and facts as facts.
Like I said, I have enjoyed it, but it's a different board than it was at the outset.
