Teaff was a vocal proponent of the ‘84 team
One of his oft-quoted remarks:
"When asked which was the better team, the Cougars or Oklahoma, former Baylor coach Grant Teaff said about BYU in 1984: 'We played both of them, lucky me, I think BYU is better. We felt we had a chance against Oklahoma, but against BYU all I wanted to do was get the game over with and get out of there.'"
