I had the starter on a 2008 Honda Civic recently have a slow death that I thought was the battery. Car occasionally wouldn’t turn over and we replaced the battery, but continued to have issues. If the lights and everything consistently work, you may need to look closer at the ignition system and not the battery. If you can get it to an auto parts store they will usually do a diagnostic for free on the battery/alternator/starter.
