Here's my, I'm an idiot story from this week.
You don't have to see the attached threat, that was me asking for help. The whole story is here though.

On Sunday we went to church, after church we had to jump our van to get home. Luckily we have one of those battery pack jump starters which I was able to use without any issues. The next day my wife went to the grocery store, and she had to use the battery pack jump starter again. So, monday night I decided that I needed to go get a new battery and I went straight to Costco (thinking they would swap it out for me. They don’t do that apparently) when I took the new battery out to my car to go home I tried to start the car but the battery was dead. The battery pack jump starter also didn’t work because it was depleted as I didn’t charge it in between jumps.

I asked a Costco employee if he could help me jump the car. It wasn’t working, my car wouldn’t start. The van wouldn’t even try to turn the engine. So I borrowed some tools from the Costco auto shop and changed the battery and it still it wasn’t working.

After some desperation and being tired I called a coworker who lives near me at 9:30pm to come pick me up at Costco and take me home. Like the kind Samaritan he is, he did so.

When I had a chance during the day I went to Costco for about 45 or so minutes to try and get the van to start. Nothing was working and eventually I had to go back to work. I brought the charger to work to charge. When I had a chance next, I stopped by Home Depot to buy jumper cables. I sat there in the Costco parking lot with my civic connected to the van charging the battery while I checked all the fuses and googling why I couldn’t start my Honda that is only 4 years old. This was about 30 minutes.

I then took the jumper cables off and connected the fully jumpstart battery to my car. It still didn’t work, it didn’t even try to turn the engine. Out of frustration I pushed the brakes a little harder and pushed the engine start button again and the engine started right up.

So, the whole time my car was doing fine except for the fact it did need new battery. I just wasn’t pushing the brake pedal hard enough for the car to say “yeah I’ll start the engine for you.”

I'm just glad the story ends before I pay for a tow truck and diagnostic fee.
