1. Financial - cut expenses to bare bones. Stop eating out. Cancel subscriptions as much as possible. Put planned vacations on hold. Save as much cash as possible.
2. Network - make sure you have your own copy of contact information for current colleagues and contacts at other firms on your own device. If you get laid off and all your contacts are on your work phone or laptop, you’re screwed. Start reaching out to friends in your field to see what opportunities are out there. Better to be looking early as you may get first shot at a job that other people at your company would be wanting.
3. Resume - if you haven’t been regularly updating your resume, better get cracking. Make sure it’s up to date and have a friend check it for errors. In fact, I’d do this before reaching out to friends so you can send them a copy of your resume as soon as they ask for it.
