the company. Gave it a lot of thought and agreed to take it on for two years if they would allow me a certain amount of latitude in how I did things knowing that some of it was counter to how business was run in the US.
They agreed. At the end of the two years, we showed some significant progress, hit all the KPIs and I had plans for further aggressive expansion - but I knew the execs would bristle at how aggressive it was.
They said 'No' to my ideas and I left shortly after that.
Within 3 months of my leaving, 4 more people left (2 of whom had been on my team) all Director level and above.
They reached out to me to ask if I still had the presentation I gave with the growth plans. They decided they wanted to implement it.
I said, 'Sure.' But I have no idea if it took off with having to restaff, etc...
There was a certain level of satisfaction in that call...
