My grandpa was a photographer for the government and was one of 4 photographers to document atom bomb tests. I really
want to swing by Los Alamos for that connection to family history. We have several photos in our family history album of him standing by mushroom clouds. All 4 photographers got cancer from the radiation and died, with my grandpa the last to pass in the 1960s. My grandma finally got compensation from the government in 1993, about $70,000 I believe.
