A remember the titans-esque movie if you will.

Something along the lines of:

-It’s starts with the hiring of LaVell as an assistant and the horrible state of the program byu was in.
-LaVell takes over as coach.
-Hires critical assistants who help implement the forward pass.

-Montage of byu winning tons of games (maybe the montage includes all the offensive awards and records our QB’s broke etc)

-But Byu still struggles to win its first bowl game. Movie shows the struggle of the program overcoming this hump

-they could show Jim McMahon and his unique relationship with BYU and how LaVell handled it perfectly.

-Movie culminates with a detailed although cliff notes version of the miracle bowl. Including Jim McMahon telling his coach he is not giving up and they are not punting the football.
And the Hail Mary catch (no need to show extra point. ruins the flow) with emotional music and an emotional celebration.

-the scene fades out and like how some movies at the end have statements about what happened after the events depicted in the movie, so would this one. With the following:

“4 years later BYU went on to win the National Championship. Once again overcoming the odds and proving doubters wrong”

“LaVell would continue coaching at BYU, despite other lucrative offers, until 2000.”

“He coached x number of all Americans, 3 Davey O’Brien trophy winners, 7 Sammy Baugh trophy winners, 2 Outland trophy winners, and in 1990 his star quarterback Ty Detmer won the Heisman Trophy”

“When LaVell retired, he was the 6th all time winningest coach in NCAA football history. Leaving a mark on college football that will never be forgotten”

Another option would be the movie culminating in us winning the National championship. Us being disrespected all season, none of the powers wanting to play us despite us wanting to prove ourselves. Us winning the National championship anyway.

But the miracle bowl is so freaking cool that it would be an epic way to conclude a movie.

This is the stuff I fantasize about lol. Not me writing it, but this just being a thing. A blockbuster movie in theaters all over.
