This is why I love Youtube. I've done some repairs...
...that would have been really expensive. Simple stuff for a mechanic, but daunting for regular guys like me. I changed the starter on my daughter's 2004 CRV by following the Youtube video and it turned out perfect. Bought a rebuilt starter from O'Reilly's and did it myself. Would probably have cost her $700, but the starter was about $120.

My son had some bad rattling in his 2006 Escape which turned out to be a worn out, loose shock absorber. The quote from the local mechanic was for about $500. He is in Logan and since I'm not there I can't help him with it. I sent him the Youtube video to follow, and he and his buddies did it for the cost of the shocks, about $50. Takes a while, but that money saving is huge, especially for young, poor college students.
