Certainly are legitimate reasons teams cooled on him. I do love tall outside shooters. Much easier to get their shot off than shorter spot--up guys. May not start for a few years, but he should be able to help in scoring when we are in a drought.
There were so many times this year that we just couldn't seem to score for long stretches. Teams were able to deny Barcello the ball and nobody else on the team could get a quality shot off. Too many of those rough stretches this year.
I do wonder how he translates as a defender. Not getting as much run on his talented high school team is concerning. At that level, you should be getting quite a bit of run if you are playing for BYU, even if you have 4-5 guys around you that are going to be high level D1 players.
