Worked in start-ups or basically start-up companies a few times
When the company is new enough you aren't sure where it is heading and any time the company is heading up is super fun, exciting, exhilarating. Also, often extremely stressful. Any company that doesn't workout can be extremely rough. I hate letting employees go.
