I would do the index fund if he has Vanguard brokerage account, which I assumed he does and is why he was asking about
The index funds. However if the brokerage account is with anybody else, like mine is, the ETFs are obviously the only way to go.
The big advantage with index funds is you could invest a set monthly amount instead of having to buy shares.
