To wit, the block note in front of the arena was painted black before the season and remained that color up until the playoffs when it was painted gold.

2 - The block note was not reverted to black. Instead it has been re-painted to look the way it looked before it was painted black. It is navy blue (or maybe purple - I have some color blindness and it's often hard to distinguish shades in images), green, and yellow.
