GOT season live. I’d watched prior seasons on dvd and liked the idea of watching it end simultaneously with everyone else.

Then, early pandemic, everyone in America was watching Tiger King. This is not even a very great show. But something about everyone doing the same thing - all of us weirded out by covid, staying home, and watching this weird show - worked. The memes and the talk show jokes. It was community.
