The answer will always be: you want a nice-large router table, but that requires space. For a long time, I only had one router... it would spend time on both the table and its plunge base. Over time i bought a dedicated router for my table.
However, almost everything you do on a table you can do freehand with jigs and support.
IMHO.. if you have the space build yourself i nice huge torsion box router table.. then use it as a workbench when you don't need it as a router table.
