I'm considering buying a premade router table that I can build into a frame to make a separate removable top (since its shorter than my existing removable bench top), so if I ever want the workbench without the router I just swap tops:
But I suppose if I don't have the router always available and I have to put the new router table top on my workbench, I'm sort of removing the reason to have a dedicated router in a table. But I also like the idea of having a table top with a fence when I'm using the tool since I don't have any separate jigs and haven't done router work freehand before.
