Contrar. Pope signed one outstanding player, and he's going to get two more better than any who departed, sad as we are
to see those players leave, of course.
I liked Mo for some inexplicable reason, and would have been glad to sign him, but Pope will land superior talent to Mo by summer. Mo's turnover rate was very high and, IMO, that puts reliable hands in question.
What is more inexplicable, is how some posters here jump to wildly pessimistic conclusions, when there is plenty of reason to believe that everything is on track.
With the current roster, the team would likely perform better than last year's #58 team, which was still a stronger season than any of the 3 years prior to Pope.
But the coach is just getting warmed up. There are still about 1000 uncommitted players in the portal. None of the coaches are used to playing this 1200 guys in the portal game. Pretty sure it works to Pope's strengths. Of course Honor Code will limit some options for BYU, but we're going to be happy when it's all done.
I'm pretty excited.
