I did the same thing. Dropped the reserve to a no annual fee card and got the
Preferred for the sign up bonus. Unless you travel enough for the 1.5x redemption to be a big difference from the 1.25x preferred redemption rate, preferred is probably sufficient and 80k is a great sign up promotion. I think the 80k promo ends at the end of May.
