My wife’s grandmother was the spouse of a U.S. soldier in Japan. Her dad grew up
half Japanese in CA right after the war. He says there was so much antagonism towards Japanese people even after the war that he and his brother hung out with the Polynesians in their ward/stake and told everyone they were Polynesian.
