But Wiggins wouldn’t have succeeded everywhere. It was still a risk. He became a better shooter and decided to play defense in GS…he was an average shooter and a disinterested defender in Minny. Just props to GS on looking at him and seeing more of a 3D wing that can also do a bit off the dribble in a pinch. TBH I’d love him as a Crowder replacement in Phoenix.
It’s pretty clear he was miscast as a go-to franchise wing scorer. Do think we pigeon hole prospects into roles too early. I get that taking him 1st almost makes it so you need him to be a superstar, but I wonder what would have happened if Minny just let him be what he is right now. It’s amazing how much better players can be at defense and shooting when they don’t also have to be the primary option.
