I wish Hall the absolute best this season. But a world-class athlete he is NOT. He won't be running over & through any UT defenses any time soon. And even if he could, his injury history proves he wouldn't hold up nearly as long as Taysom remarkably could. Those who think of Taysom as injury-prone (like Jaren obviously is) don't consider just how phenomenally reckless he played for a 6'2, 230 lb kid. Most D1 athletes of his size (even if they were granted his crazy dose of strength & speed) could not have held up half as long doing the sort of stuff he did.
But hopefully Hall continues to widen the distance between himself & Taysom in the passing & decision-making department, cuz his field vision (like Taysom) isn't likely to improve all that much. I'm cautiously optimistic regarding Hall's ceiling this season. But honestly, he's not a QB I think I want as the starter beyond one more year. His vision, touch & processing are not likely to improve all that much. His career ceiling is not nearly as high as many of his staunchest fans seem to think it is. Even Roderick --who glows about him quite a bit on camera-- manages him very tightly, particularly in the red zone. His faith in him is obviously only so-so.
