Stabilizing the eroded embankments and re-building the bridges will be a major
project, and that Canyon is not a year-round construction area. Working past October will be extremely difficult. With enough money, any time frame can be moved up, but I doubt there’s enough residents in that rural town to warrant it. The economic value of the NP to Gardiner is probably the biggest driver, but even then I don’t see this open next year. We’ll see…

The old highway is still a dirt road that goes over the mountain above the canyon, I bet that gets graded and oiled and becomes the main road while the other is being re-built.
