I think for most of those teams, they aren't looking to get "over the top" -
They would be happy just graduating out of the lottery and into the playoffs, and Ayton is a 23-year old Center who has played at an All-Star level the last two years. Giving up a similarly high-priced veteran plus a pick 4-6 in what is considered a four player draft may not seem like too much to give. Of the three deals shown, I think the Pistons are the team that SHOULDN'T pull the trigger, because they would be better off drafting at #5 and trading Grant for another player who fits Cunningham's timeline. But Sacramento is tired of being in the lottery (and Barnes definitely doesn't fit with the rest of their pieces) and Indiana would definitely rather have Ayton than whatever they can get at 6.

Will be interested to see what the Suns actually get back, because it sure sounds like they're going to move him.
