They are apples to oranges. Had a Tacoma for probably 5 years and a Tundra going on year 4
Here's what the Tacoma did well:
Could go anywhere.
Gas mileage was decent like 20+
Reliable.
HWY ride decent not great
Downside:
No leather
No heated seat
Sucked for long driving-- very uncomfortable seat
Acceleration not great
Even King Cab can't put teenagers in back
Tundra:
Can get in leather and moonroof
Rides very well. Doing 90 mph and holds the rd better than my wife's Taho at 70 mph
Seats are comfortable- great for a long ride
Accelerates great
Plenty of room for 5 grown men in King Cab
Can load up the back and not notice a change in handling
— gas mileage sucks. 14-17
— not as sure footed as tacoma on crap roads
