Two ways they can fix it.
1. Drill a bigger plug whole and replace plug with a larger size.
2. Replace pan and plug.

Most often they do #1 because it is cheaper. Keep documentation and always have the same place continue doing the changes. Why? Because then you can say no one else has done the changes but you who caused the problem in the first place. Any subsequent business will just say sorry it wasn't our fault. Initially it was drilled by someone else. Because the drilled hole and the hole plug are bigger it is more likely to happen again and then pan replacement is a must. The only way for you to not get stuck with the bill is for you to have documentation of all the oil changes done at the same place. Honda Civics and Accords were notorious for stripping threads in oil pan plugs. I switched to Camrys for that reason after having to have oil pans replaced int two different Accords in a 6 year span. Don't know about recent models, but I document every change and always at same business. I got stuck paying for the pan replacement after the first plug enlargement because I had taken it to a different business and they each blamed the other.
