This announcement does the exact opposite, every school that was mentioned now
has hope they will make the move to the B10, so any leverage they had went right out the window. This was the B10's way to have both the pac and the ACC to now be on shakier ground because both conferences will now be wondering who and when will any of those teams leave.

Any contract for the pac would come with a huge exit fee and GOR tied to it so each of those schools would be very reluctant to sign anything. If they don't sign, the pac would be toast and ESPN would probably work behind the scenes to then get some of the pac schools into the B12 so they would still have the west coast inventory.

It's not as if ESPN has tried this before, just last summer with the B12 until Bowlsby got the cease and desist order against them. This time around I think ESPN would do it in the deeper dark shadows to not show what they are doing.

Would ESPN come back with a bigger offer, I guess they could, but again a company isn't going to pay more for the product just to get the product, when they have a value they have placed on that product. They then would explore other ways to accomplish the same eventual goal.
