The bigger piece of the distribution is by who participates in the CFP/NY6, but then you have to remember who determines who gets to play in the CFP/NY6 - the CFP committee. And who determines the rules for how the CFP is structured/governed/etc.? The power conferences do. If the P5 has become the Super 2 plus P3 (or 2), then you can bet that whatever terms the B1G and SEC want (unless they are at odds with each other) will get passed/agreed. So yes, the strength of your conference very much determines what you end up with in playoff money.
