401K loans, if you pay them back, are very useful

For my company's plan, the 5.75% interest that you pay goes back into the 401K, so you are basically paying interest to yourself. You can borrow up to 1/2 the value of your 401K in my company's plan, and the repayment comes directly out of my paycheck.

Same here. I cut out the PMI charges and paid myself back. I'd do a 401k loan
