I'm an electrical engineer in embedded systems. Field is saturated.
Every time I talk to a recruiter about a job, they've filled it within a week. There are just way too many people that do what I do.
Been interviewing constantly for 5 years trying to find something that isn't just incredibly frustrating day in and day out. For example, right now I work with a negative and condescending narcissist that complains about everything anyone does, it's so depressing.

Meanwhile, government keeps pushing STEM STEM STEM even though we over-produce engineering grads, and handing out visas to people who do my job.

Doctors like to complain a lot but man there are some specialists out there that can go work wherever they want, at whatever salary they want, with however many vacation days they want. The interest groups have done such a great job of stopping creation of new medical schools despite population growth, and driving up doctor salaries. Nobody does that for engineers, that's for sure.
