Contextually, you are okla freaking homa. There is no more racist place in the nation than maybe northern Idaho or Provo… yes I went there. If OU wants a single black recruit to attend their school, they must take swift harsh action.

1. Maybe he could have saved his job if after “accidentally” reading the slur he went on and gave a lecture about how that is an inappropriate word and will never be used in that room or at practice or in front of him again by anyone.

2. No one believes the bull crap story that he had no idea. Like the F word, eyes are drawn immediately to it and it registers before any other word on the page. Maybe do an experiment and have white people pick up a random tablet and read what’s on it in front of a bunch of black people. I’ll bet my bottom dollar none of them read the racial slur out loud.

3. Flip the script (metaphor isn’t perfect but you get the idea). What if some non-member Baptist assistant coach at BYU picked up some kids tablet and reads loudly and proudly, “I hate all Mormons and want to kill them.” He then smiles, puts down the tablet, and moves on with teaching. Regardless if the community can forgive him, he lost the locker room.
