approaching the border crossing. We'd already given all our cash up to a previous cop (different driver) so since we didn't pay, the cop handed me a paper ticket. I remember it had some San Diego address that I could mail payment to, but when we got home and unpacked the car, we couldn't find the ticket anywhere, so I never paid or did anything about it.

Fast forward to next weekend when I will be going back to Mexico for the first time since that day. What odds would you give me of the federales taking me to jail at customs? I'm concerned about it. My wife thinks its' no big deal.

I did email the US Embassy in Mexico but they just forwarded to some other department and it's been crickets.

Not that it matters now, but I definitely wasn't speeding...
